Match the wood to the room

Oak and ash are forgiving for daily use. Walnut deepens beautifully with age — better for showpieces than for pieces you'll abuse. Teak handles moisture, which is why it lives outdoors. Always look for FSC-certified solid wood, never veneered chipboard pretending to be solid.
